Scriptures tell us that we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). As a result of Adam and Eve’s disobedience, we are all automatically born into sin. Not one of us is guiltless, but thank God for the redeeming blood of His Son Jesus Christ.

There is no “big sin” or “little sin,” no “serious sin” or “trivial sin” in God’s eyes. Someone who lies is just as guilty as the one who kills, and they all have the same consequence–death. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” –  1 John 1:9 (NIV)

Romans 8:1-2

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

His blood will cleanse you Out of love for us, Jesus allowed His blood to be shed on the cross. He paid the ultimate price. He took our place, sacrificing Himself for our salvation. He died so that we can live and have a relationship with the Father. Our sins brought us condemnation, but the blood of Jesus brought us new life.

Christ’s blood will free you from every curse. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). It doesn’t matter who has laid a curse on you or your family. That curse cannot withstand the power of the blood of Jesus.

What can wash away our sins? Nothing but the precious blood of Jesus. When you know you’ve been cleansed with Christ’s blood, you can enter the throne of grace with boldness (Hebrews 4:14-16). It doesn’t matter what your past is, the blood of Jesus will give you a clean slate. When you come to repentance, God is able to forgive you.

His blood will protect you Exodus 12:1-13 chronicles the first Passover; when God instructed the children of Israel to mark their doorposts with the blood of a lamb. This was to ensure that when He passed judgment on their oppressors, the Egyptians, by striking down the firstborn sons of every household, the Israelites would be spared. When God saw the mark on the Israelites’ doorposts, He spared them.

“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be

a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt” (Exodus 12:12-13).

In the same vein, Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God (John 1:29) and His blood not only cleanses us

from sin but also protects us from harm. His blood will preserve you. It doesn’t matter what type of plague or pandemic you’re facing, the blood of Jesus will speak for you. No evil will come near your dwelling.

Are you still carrying the weight of past sins around thinking they’re too big for God to forgive? It’s time to lay them at the feet of Jesus and allow Him to wash you clean with His blood. The way to God is through the blood of His Son. When you accept the Gospel of Jesus you’re given

a new life and all curses reversed. His blood will restore you.
