The scripture above teaches us that if we want to please God, we must have faith. When you go to Him in prayer you have to go in faith, knowing that despite the challenges you may be going through or the negative news around you, your faith and trust in God remains.

What is faith?

The dictionary defines faith as “strong belief or trust.” In Hebrews 11:1 (AMP) faith is described as, “The assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

– Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

Romans 4:20-22

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Faith says, “Things may not be going well right now, but I believe there’s a breakthrough coming my way.” It declares, “Despite the doctor’s report, I am strong in the Lord and complete in Christ.”

How do we receive and strengthen our faith? Scripture has the answer. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” There are so many ways we can hear from God, such as reading and meditating on scripture, listening to sermons, and hearing the testimonies of other believers. As you constantly connect to God’s word, your faith level increases.

He rewards those who seek Him

God says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. That’s because we may not see Him but we need to believe He exists to be able to pray to Him, praise and worship Him, and for Him to bless us and work miracles in our lives.

In addition, God isn’t looking for people who would worship Him only when the going is good but also through life’s toughest times. These are the true believers, the ones that are founded in faith and please God. When you walk through the valley, keep trusting in the Lord. When it feels like

there’s a storm coming, keep your faith in Him.

He will uphold you

Why should we keep our faith in God through difficult times?

As humans, we go through highs and lows in life. One minute we’re celebrating a huge win and the next we may be dealing with an illness or trouble with our finances. God knows the road will be tough, but He’s telling us to keep Him at the center of our lives. Through Him, we can experience divine hope, healing, and joy.

His word assures us in Deuteronomy 31:8 saying, “The Lord himself goes before you and will

be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” And in Isaiah 41:10 He says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your

God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Abraham’s mighty miracle

Abraham was already an old man when God promised him a son. Even his wife Sarah’s childbearing days were long gone. It seemed ridiculous that this couple would conceive and have their own child, but God has never made a promise He didn’t fulfill.

When Abraham was 100 years old and his wife 90, they had their son, Isaac. This was 25 years after the promise was first given to them. The Bible says that Abraham staggered not through unbelief during those 25 years. He was strong in faith and it was counted to him for righteousness.

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” – Romans 4:20-22

In summary

What type of Christian are you? Are you the type that only runs to God when the going gets tough or are you constantly connected to Him? You have to be a person of faith. Through thick and thin God expects us to remain grounded in Him because He’s always there for us.

Boost your faith by reading the Bible, spending time in prayer, and listening to testimonies. Your faith will open doors of miracles and divine blessings in your life. God is coming through for you. No matter what life throws at you, you’re covered in the blood of Jesus and you’ll come out victorious. Hallelujah!
