The world is undergoing a shift right now. It is no longer business as usual. Families are being shaken to the core and questions are being asked. What is happening? On the surface, the world is facing one of its

worst pandemics in decades. It has claimed thousands of lives and hit economies around the world hard. But what is happening beneath the surface? Has the devil taken control of the earth?

“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

– Jeremiah 29:11

Acts 2:17

“In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”

Thankfully, God’s word holds true for eternity. 1 Corinthians 10:26 (NIV) says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” The devil is spewing out his agitation, but greater is He that is in the sons and daughters of God than he that is in the world. In every crisis, God has a message for His people. In the midst of the pandemic, He has a message for you.

To have a better understanding of the crisis that is rocking the world and what God’s wants to say to you through it, it is important to ask Him these questions:

  • Lord, what are you teaching me?
  • Where are you taking me?
  • What are your plans for me after this pandemic?

A big shake

Many lives are being shaken in the midst of this crisis, and God is revealing Himself more to His people. Acts 2:17 says, “‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.’”

To many, this is a time of loss, depression, and confusion, but God is teaching us repentance, humility, and a deeper relationship with Him. This might be a difficult period for some, but it is the best time to run to God because He holds all the answers. It is also during times like these

that God sifts through His Church, separating His true followers from the superficial ones.

Separating the wheat from the chaff

“His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Luke 3:17).

Winnowing is an ancient technique that farmers used to separate the wheat from the chaff—the husk around the wheat which is not eaten. Winnowing involved throwing the wheat into the air with a fork or a basket, allowing the wind to separate the wheat grains from the chaff. By shaking up the wheat and chaff, the wheat kernels, which were heavier, fell back into the basket or on the ground, while the lighter chaff was blown away by the wind.

Christ promised to separate the wheat from the chaff in the last days. In other words, He will separate His followers from the followers of the enemy, or the righteous from the unrighteous. There is no sitting on the fence here. Those who are faithful till the end He will reward with a crown of righteousness and eternity in His glorious presence. Just like winnowing, God is removing the shake able things from His Church.

Last words

Don’t be afraid if you’ve been shaken up spiritually during this period. God is removing the unnecessary, sinful parts from His children and filling them with a fresh anointing.

When God is shaking you, don’t become defensive but rather be submissive. Look not on the present discomfort but on His plans for you. His Word says in Jeremiah 29:11, “‘For I know

the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
