Genesis 2:7 tells us how God created man. It says He fashioned him “from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Woman, He made from man’s ribs. So, essentially, Adam and Eve were created from dust.

The life that each of us carries is extremely powerful. It’s a piece of God Himself. But sadly, too many people are walking the earth without knowing how much power they have in them and what it can do for them. We aren’t just walking and talking pieces of clay, we were made in the image of God and that makes us gods (John 10:34)!

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”

– 2 Corinthians 4:7

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”

In 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV), the apostle Paul gives us an idea of how valuable we really are. He said we are treasures enclosed in earthen vessels. The verse reads: “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”

God knew you before He created you

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5). Right from when you were conceived, God put gifts, anointing, and grace in you. There are gifts you possess that you haven’t even yet explored.

The devil has deceived too many to think that their lives are a waste and they are worthless. That is a lie from the pit of hell. Everyone that God has created is a treasure. That’s why He found us valuable enough to send His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our salvation (John 3:16-17).

Don’t allow the circumstances around you to break your spirit. The truth is that you have potential and God created you for a purpose. Don’t be among those who do not know the value of what God has put in them. Rather, look up to your creator and let Him use you to His glory.

God wants to use you

Precious gems don’t lose their value whenever a crisis hits, just like placing a piece of diamond inside an old, cracked clay pot would not diminish its worth. And in case you didn’t know this already, you are worth more than all the precious gems in the world.

So, maybe you’ve experienced some pretty dark times in your life where your health or finances were hit hard, or perhaps you’re stuck in a job where you’re not appreciated. Don’t allow those negative experiences to make you feel inadequate. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that God has a special

assignment He created each one of us for. Don’t worry about how you’re going to accomplish it; His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9 Philippians 4:13). You’re a peculiar treasure. One

of a kind! So, rather than say “I’m not enough,” say, “I’m yours, Lord. Use me.”
